Basically, you want to position yourself as far away from the platform as possible but close enough to hit and be hit by alkar.

I'm pretty sure distance and the such affects sally spawning.

Only takes 10 mins with enchanter + bot. No fop/ml9 pet needed. Though with ml9 pet it takes even less time.

And theres nothing really to it, I've done the encounter loads of times and no salamaders have spawned.

a guildie did this as lvl 46 chanter and 46 bb, without FoP, just using pots

Tartaros gift charge also helps this encounter.. if you've activated it and if you are helping someone else get credit. Just gives you that short extra boost to finish Akil off.

I think the salamander spam is caused by aggroing the portal priests. There seems to be a way you can avoid aggroing if you send your pet onto Akhil, get aggro, and immediately bring your pet back to Akhil's maximum range to melee.

If you do it flawlessly, you should avoid salamanders most times. If you get your line of attack wrong (you need to be equidistant from the enarest portal priests) or are too slow (you let your pet linger on platform when getting aggro) the portal priests start summoning salamanders. It's pretty hard to get them to stop summoning once they start.

The puller has to be solo for this tactic, I believe. Not sure why, but it seems portal priest aggro is tied up with BAF.

took it with cabbie and fop cleric once .. but herd thay fixed the encounter so u cant prevent sally's spawning ? .. dunno ..
