No it is not Nana.

They are 100% the same. Check it with either photoshop or take a piece of paper and make 2 wholes in it on the places of the squares. Then put it on the screen and see that they are the same color

i agree

its a :p

/refuses to believe in optical illusions :)

(and yea i know its the same but i hate it when it is the same. want one person to do this and it actually be a darker colour :p )

but in essence B is darker as it is shrouded in the shadow of the upright thus making it darker while A is bathed in the light coming from the right side.

As it happens, B is darker because of the way the squares merge with surrounding squares and the fact surrounding squares of B are darker than the squares surrounding A. Whilst the colour is identical in the centre of squares, the average across both squares puts B darker due to said merging between squares.

Do I get a medal for going too much into it and somewhat proving the expected answer wrong :p ?
