I'm not on any kind of personal mission against Satyn. You go read her posts in Gandelf's threads of, say, a month or so ago and then read the one's she made since their recent ingame disagreements. Then you tell me I'm making stuff up to get at her if you still feel that.

The fact I've disagreed with several things Satyn has said over the last few months doesn't mean I am out to get her or trying to sabotage her position as a mod. We just disagree with each other on some issues. It's never nice to have a friend disagree with you, particularly in a public place like this, but I am going to hope that Satyn and Thand will not make our friendship dependent on me agreeing with everything they say.
Unless you're willing to start paying mods wages, you're not in any position to claim what mods can and can't do,
Noone gets paid wages to come here and yet we all comment on each others posts. You do it as much as anyone else, if you wanna start talking about hypocrisy.

Perhaps she's as fed up of Gandelf's stirring as everyone else is now? I think you'll find I've been a lot nicer to Gandelf over the last few months too than I used to be but his recent comments have totally crossed the line yet I sure as hell haven't had any personal disagreement with him.

No, you post because you enjoy posting, you moderate because you don't mind sacrificing some of your time to look after the forum, however, that doesn't mean as a volunteer you have to start taking demands on how to behave. I suggest that if you think posting is as tough as moderating that you simply don't bother posting?

Where did I say that either moderating or posting was tough? You're the one talking about how tough it is.

My point was that if normal users have a responsibility not to aggro other users, the moderators - who set and enforce the rules - have at least an equal responsibility to do the same. I think if you stepped out of "I want an argument" mode you'd realise I'm not making a particularly controvertial point. It's pretty much standard to view mods (or any type of policing agency in any walk of life) that way.

I think you're confusing being a forum poster with being a customer. As a forum user you're here because those who are paying the running costs - Banana and Ayana are willing to let you be here. With a service like DAoC for example you have a right to complain about how it's run as you're paying for the service.

For the record, the post you quoted was my attempt NOT to flame you. I wanted to comment, because I was kinda disgusted to see a moderator attacking Gandelf in the thread in question, but at that time I tried to avoid being too blunt, which apparently was pointless since you still view it as inflammatory.
I think it starts about here mate, not that i care. I think this whole thread is utterly useless bile and puerile at that.

Personally i see the forum as a way to pass on information or have friendly discussion.
Probably one of the reasons i dont post that much now as half the threads are now something i wouldnt want to get involved in. (making an acception for this one)

With regard to the topic:
If i have a problem with someone i will probably PM them, if someone posts something about me that is wrong i will correct it.
Im hesitant to get involved in writen arguments as i know what i was trying to write but others might read it differantly and on top of that you can have people quoting bits which can then be read out of context.

Hmmm, i am sure that Banana and Ayana went to the trouble and expense in order to create a community forum, not for self-gratification.

That implies that you need a community, and that the forum is somewhat representative of the community. The only way the the people running the forum can know if they represent the community is if the community provide feedback.

If the people running the forum don't listen to the feedback then eventually the community will disappear and go elsewhere, to another community which suits them better.

The attitude expressed in your posts implies that we have to accept what the mods say whether we like it or not is a certain way to kill the forums. Since those of us that don't like it will stop visiting, and it seems enough have already stopped visiting recently.
