Valewalkers get a castable ranged ae disease and an insta pb disease, besides the offensive proc that might go off during melee.

Disease works like a 15% (i think) snare for the duration, lowers the strength of the enemy by 10 or 15% (cba looking up numbers),and as an added effect it halves all healing spells on that target. So if your target uses IP while he is diseased for instance, it will only heal him for half of what it normally does.

One of the things about disease that has always been so and will probably be same for the VW version, is that it has a long duration, 2minutes is no exaggeration often, and it has no immunitytimer. So should the target get cured from disease by another player or by purging, then it can be immediately reapplied anyway.

That is how it works with current versions anyway (except for CL disease which is a short duration one), so my guess is it'll be same for VW one.

I've been thinking about the changes since I read the Camelot Herald last night and, although I do like the improvements (especially the long-awaited to hit bonus on Taunt), I don't think the patch goes quite far enough.

My ongoing worry remains the general lack of defence that a VW has. While I acknowledge we have the highest absorb in Hibernia (typically 33% without PD) but that is always assuming that we have our self buffs up (20min timers) and it is mitigated by our very low AF. I think the problem continues to lie with Mythic's inability to decide whether we are a caster or a tank and we don't seem to be getting the benefits of either. If we are a caster then I would like to see a bladeturn and access to Physical Defense and if we are supposed to be a tank then I would like increased AF - possibly by adding a spec AF buff to the Valewalking line? Hell Ranger's get both of these but I would settle for one!

There is quite a long list of other things that need addressing - poor selection of artifacts, obsolesence of the defensive proc when compared to e.g. SoM, self haste not being celerity (not stacking with druid buff) etc but I'm hoping that these are not the only changes we can expect.

No, Ignore Pain is an exception, and iirc. FirstAid nowadays aswell. They removed the IgnorePain 'nerfed by disease' after complaints from mostly archers who IP'ed on an assassin for 50% effect.

The disease I have on my VW as scythe-proc removes about 56 STR from the enemy, not too bad, but hardly gamebreaking. The snare-component is very nice tho, if I see it go off and the fight is going tricky I often sprint off and do a few lifetaps on the tank :)

Fair enough, i did base my knowledge on it halving IP-value on when i use to solo with my armsman in Odin's Gate in OF indeed. My info is quite outdated yes, i wish i knew that they changed it at some point. ;)

Disease never used to effect IP in OF either. Back then it was a 100% guaranteed heal no matter what.

Disease did effect IP but that was just when they reworked RA system wasent it? Im pretty sure that the healing value was messed with somehow if you was diseased, but then again its been a while since I actually soloed on my Armsman

Yep, in OF it did effect IP value for sure, i wouldn't be able to tell you which patch that was though, but it has to have been the one that was live on euro servers in winter 2002-2003. I distinctively remember a shaman/skald duo that i met near HMG in OF's Odin's gate (so naturally i got diseased in that fight), and when i IPed it gave me back crap hp's.

And hi Jarahl :)
