How does this Circle of Five stuff work?

Yes yes, I know, I'm a noob for asking this. However, after reading all these discussions here and on FH I still don't know when to start these Co5 raids. I have done the CL1 and the CL2 quest, am I now ready for a circle of five raid or is this just the last leg of the CL3 quest? In other words: Do I have to do several CL3 steps before going on a Co5 raid in order to get CLxp and quest credit for CL3? This stuff has me totally confused.
Thanks for your reply in advance.

To start off, you have not done CL1 and CL2 quest as there are no quests like that. You have done Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 which have nothing at all to do with Champion levels. The Chapters are only to be able to get the weapon before you are the right Champion level to get it through that. Circle of 5 is part of the Chapter 3, and what you have to do is simply follow your /journal.
I understand that its confusing for some, as there are so many people out there that think they know what they are talking about but keep saying things wrong only to confuse people who actualy know they dont know to much about the subject.
Important thing is to realise, Champion levels are gained by exp of any form, its not quest based at all. You can do pure grinding by killing mobs, do quests that give experience, or even RvR as you get experience there aswell.
The Chapters (quest that you get in throne room) are a way for people to get access to the weapon before you reach the correct Champion level.

So you can not do the quests and still be champion level 5?

If you finish the steps you wont be champion level 5, you need the xp for it.

The quest is just a quest, you can do it when ever you want to (as long as you meet the requirements). As I said, don't mix up the quests with champion levels as they have nothing to do with each other.
Circle of 5 is just the name of one of the steps in Chapter 3, it is in a regular cave so anyone can go in there and kill the mobs if they want to, ofc you wont get the credits for the quest unless you have the quest (which imo is quite self explanatory)
