got a new love
a lurie hero
my spec wil be 50lw 50shield 28 parry 6 blades
i think

but cant seem to find a template for luries

can some one help me make one?

and is my spec any goodZ?

some say 45 shield is enough
pls any thoughts?

dunno bout template, but the spec seems pretty good for solo and group, think ur only trouble is gonna be dual wielders in 1v1, but if they dont have det/purge shld be easy enough

have u considered 50 CS - some good styles and high dmg too

also perhaps 42 shield 39 blades for higher weaposkill when shielding - but the AE shield style is pretty good

becoz of luris low str a LW/CS hero will not be able to break the 350 mark without aug str, and i would suggest 400 for a 2handed user - which is impossible afaik on a luri.

how about 50 shield 50 pierce ? would leave u wanting dmg output, but i cant see many people wanting to fight that 1v1

In my personal opinion roll a Valewalker, now theres a class

My hero is 50 s/s 28 parry and it's no fun

Pretty boring and takes u a long time to kill something.

So prolly best to go 50 LW/CS, maybe 42shield and rest blades/pierce.

and 50 shield slam style doesnt cost much endurence i read
so thats why i want the 50 shield style

its a pure RvR char no PvE
and i finaly want to kill those damn stealthers
and dual wielders are a pain in the arse for every one
rjust want good def and a nice dmg output
i know lurie hero isnt the strongest but i wil still hit for some good dmg
compare it to others<celt firebolg> it wil be not that good.................
but the fun i can have knibbbling to a HO feet and hit him for some nice dmg wil be a awesome experience
so at the end its all about the fun factor i geus
wont be a star in RvR but hey i made 14 lvl 50s and noone of them rocked in RvR

thing with luries is survival
our dmg and hp is les so we need more def:)
50 28 parrry ore 45 shield 39 parry should do the trick

The naturally higher dex for luri's I think means that you block with the shield a lot more than say a firby would. Not sure how effective that would be against a duel wielding opponent though.

As you say the downside is the lack of damage output.

I think CS has some high damage styles and imagine you would need to be 50+ in the spec line to max the damage (unlike dual wielders).

Hard to be effective in RvR now, especially at low RR levels as people strive for the best possible templates (easier arti access) and the RA's kick in. Even a tank hitting a caster is not guaranteed a win anymore.

Monk's right about VW class to an extent. It got some luv in the last patch and should get a little more in the next making it a lot more attractive and likely to become FOTM.

I am still not sure quite where it fits in an RvR grp though. Decent HP, high str, good armour (cloth but has a good self AF buff which becomes even better with some stat bonuses) and some insta abilities for interupts all sound ok. So I can see it working as an assist tank and interuptor (say in a split tank/caster set up) but not as a defensive role (could grapple and interupt but I think a warden has a lot more going for it). Having said that I have run with Alex's VW a few times in RvR recently and it the things like disease and ichor may well be proving an annoyance to the enemy.

dont think it'll be FOTM just yet, think the styles and pells arent quite enough for the elite players, but this defo makes the class alot more attractive.

Battlemaster allows for roaming BG
2 specable insta interupts
insta pbae desease
ichor
baod
highest hitting styles in hib /flex

its a class worth playing especially if u run split grps - bg on druids/casters while assisting with LTs or meleeing soft tanks down
and one of the best PvE classes in hib, easily chain purples in Df with BB bufs
