I've not been keeping up this past week or so. I presume you know about this oversight committee CCP are setting up to try and gain the trust of the players?

yeah I have been watching that Blog since you found it. Some nice discussions in there. I tend to agree with him - hard to see what the remit of such a committee would be.

Gah, I spent a week in Goonfleet during my free trial.
EVE is the dullest game I have ever played, including LOTRO.

The wiki abuse and other drama over the weekend is almost definitely Goons, they pride themselves on their "for the swarm!" shite.

Is the company behind EVE trying to compete with GOA or something lately?

I wouldn't be surprised.

I personally dislike EVE, it attracts a particularly hardcore sort of nerd. Also, the travel is the biggest timesink I have ever seen in a game. You can spend two hours hopping across the universe, only to get podded two jumps from your destination... and then have to do it all over again.

Combat is the only decent part of the game, but you need a good ship for that, and that takes many hours of mining and training. More timesink.
Not to mention the fact that it's really badly coded and still full of annoying little bugs and exploits.

Now, if you'll excuse me I'll go back to trying to get Oblivion to run smoothly on my computer.
