me and a friend were discussing this game on wednesday
really wanna play it now.

The idea for the mobs they have seem so wonderful...not sure how it will translate to real server insted of beta as i can imagine lots of things against certain things but from the player reports - sounds good

Im going to be playing an Elf Champion with an alt of a Hobbit Minstrel
(did want to play a Hobbit Burgler but i dont think i will...i like the idea of stelthing chars but they annoy me )

Hope its not like harry potter tho i.e expectations are high but it actually sucks big time

The LotRO website has a beta report from someone playing a Guardian. It sounds like a solid class to play, but melée doesn't really appeal to me and as there are no mages I think I'll play an Elf Hunter, possibly a Loremaster, but Loremaster's are more of a healing class, which I'm not too keen on playing.

I've already pre-ordered by copy of the game from Play.

I just managed to get into LOTRO after 24h of trying, and I played for about 20 minutes. I haven't seen much, but what I have seen I don't like too much. It's based on DDO engine, very obvious, therefore everything (I've seen so far) is instanced, and loading zones are every few minutes, means no open ended world (Again, i'm just at the start, might be later). Gfx are bleh, DDO type, char customization is pretty limited.

So far I like the large open-ended world of Vanguard 10x better, it's obvious where more effort went. Turbine created 2 games with same engine, but with good franchises, obviously only to collect cash, and not to give us an innovative experience, while Vanguard went the other way.
