Thanks Ankh. I've heard also that there are certain aspects of Vista that are more retrograde in their use than XP and that certain features are annoying. The transparent panels for example, make it difficult for the user to tell which panel is in the foreground etc, or so I read.

In the ultimate Edition you will have abit more options - but all versions of Vista have the features your talking about, thank god they are easy to turn off. But the security of Vista is anoying - way too advanced for a normal user imo.

..even though the Ultimate Edition features more options, its THE one to go for incase you should decide to get Vista - but imo its not worth it atm as there arent many games that support dx10. Get vista in a year or so and the first 100 bugs will proberbly (hopefully) be gone.
