good image editors

Post by Sharkith »

anyone know of any free image editors that have no silly 30day trials? I need one to convert from tif to jpg format to reduce file sizes. I need it quite urgently - for this afternoon if possible.

The Gimp - its open source, from the unix/linux community but has a windows binary as well. It's easily as good as PSP.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...the A(nimist)-Team

Thanks to Tuthmes for the link.

Paint.NET 2.5 was released just recently, and is looking quite good I might add.

Try it out, it's free.

The best freeware image editor for file conversions and such is Irfanview.

The problem with MS Paint is that you have no control over image optimization, such as JPEG compression, when saving in a different format. Which is why something like Irfanview is much better. Since it's free a small download, it's worth having.
